Andy Garay:

We must defend human dignity. True warriors of light must ALWAYS defend the honor of their fellow humans. Revenge is a double sided sword and a plate that is best served cold. It is our morals and values that separate us from the children of the dark side.

My father was my first Martial Arts Teacher, and he taught me since childhood that the knowledge I was acquiring was only for self-defense and should never be used on the weak or helpless. Its purpose is to defend our life, our honor and our dignity. Our strength as warriors is derived from our unwavering conviction that we are fighting against evil and that because we are righteous, we will prevail.

It is our duty as keepers of the light to illuminate the world and keep it from the darkness of ignorance and despair. As General MacArthur said:

"Duty, Honor, Country. Those three hollow words revently dictate what you OUGHT to be, what you CAN be and what you WILL be. They are your rallying points to build courage when courage seems to fail, to create hope when there seems little cause for hope, to regain faith when faith becomes forlorn.

Truer words from a more formidable warrior have seldom been spoken so eloquently. MacArthur understood that it is through our values, that we, the warriors of light, grow our strength. They are our rallying points to regain our fortitude in desperate times, in times when all hope of winning has evaporated and our own humanity is at stake. When the darkness of fear and despair engulfs us, when our feelings of hatred and weakness menacingly surround us, we must, by the radiance of our values and convictions, light the way. It is our knowledge of right from wrong that should give us courage, hope, and faith.

It is also by our knowledge of science that we know that darkness and evil do not exist, that only light and righteousness are true. The children of darkness want us to believe that evil, as everything else in this world, is created by God, and that since we humans are a reflection of its true image, God must be evil, because evils exists. It seems at first view a logical conclusion. But I will argue that evil does not exist and neither does darkness. They are simply expressions that humans have created to express the absence of righteousness and the absence of light.

Physics teaches us that light, not darkness, can be measured and studied. We can separate white light in all the different colors and wavelengths that compose it. Not so with darkness. A single ray of light cuts through darkness and illuminates the body it shines upon. We only know how dark a place is if we base it on how much light there is on that space. Hence, darkness is a term man has created to illustrate what happens when there is no light, just as cold only expresses lack of heat. Evil is the absence of righteousness. It is the absence of morals and values in our hearts. Light and heat are energy and they exist inherently in nature. Darkness and evil do not.

So, in conclusion, we must speak out with rage and passion against the dwindling of the light and the diminishing of righteousness, because our own humanity is at stake. History teaches us that when we become indifferent to our neighbors plight, we lose our humanity.

At the Seventh White House Millennium Evening, on April 12, 1999, Mr. Elie Wiesel, a Jewish Holocaust survivor and Nobel Peace Prize winner in 1986, gave a speech known as 'The Perils of Indifference'. In this speech, addressing President Clinton and the US Congress, he drew on his own experiences to highlight the plight of oppressed and disadvantaged people throughout the world.

Mrs. Hillary Clinton, wife of then President Bill Clinton, introduced Wiesel, saying
'you have taught us never to forget. You have made sure that we always listen to the victims of indifference, hatred and evil.'

This is what Mr. Wiesel, who never again saw his parents or siblings after being deported to and separated at Auschwitz concentration camp, had to say that evening in front of an invited audience at the White House:

… Indifference can be tempting, even seductive. It is so much easier to look away from victims. It is so much easier to avoid such rude interruptions to our work, our dreams, and our hopes. It is, after all, awkward, troublesome, to be involved in another's person pain and despair. Yet, for the person who is indifferent, his or her neighbors are of no consequence. And, therefore, their lives are meaningless. Indifference reduces the other to an abstraction. Being indifferent to that suffering is what makes a human being inhuman. Not to respond to their plight, not to relieve their solitude by offering them a spark of hope is to exile them from human memory. And in denying their humanity, we betray our own.

Speak out, we must. The children of darkness can only win when the children of light are indifferent. To paraphrase a Jewish carpenter who, 2 millenniums ago was also victimized and persecuted;

"We are the light of the world, let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. "

Let us, as warriors of the light, defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world. Let us prove to the world, let us show all of humanity, that we are indeed the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity on Earth. Let us be defined by our strength of character and by the convictions of our values. If we are to defeat the warriors of darkness, we must despise their methods and remain true to our principles, our morals and our ethics.

No!

Two wrongs don't make a right".

Como dijo Patton: 'We will win this war, not by giving our lives by our country, but by making that other son of a bitch die for HIS country." Auuhaa!!
